Oswaldo Moncayo signs his work "O. Moncayo". He was the oldest son of the painter Hector Moncayo, and painted some of the finest miniature paintings. Oswaldo died in 1986.

Oil painted on stretched canvas, with a simple gold frame. Size of painting is 21.5 x 15.5 inches. This is a scene of the volcano known as Cotopaxi, showing also a typical highland Andean family with their 2 donkey pack animals and their possessions. The painting shows light craquelleur and possible slight surface soil. Otherwise, the painting is in very nice condition, ready to hang. Signed lower right "O. Moncayo", and titled lower left "El Cotopaxi Ecuador".
